End Of An Era, The Corner Gallery Closing Down Party!
After just over five years of bringing art and music lovers together under the one roof, The Corner Gallery will be opening up the roller door one last time.
The Corner Gallery has been host to massive group exhibitions that have raised thousands of dollars donated towards victims of Nepal earthquakes in 2015, the CCWA to help protect our sharks, late Australian skateboarding photographer Rome Torti’s family after his tragic passing and a huge list of charities ranging from mental health to the Disabled Surfers Association of Australia to helping the homeless. Live art events held at the gallery included the Wall to Wall series (murals straight onto the gallery walls), Lost & Found (painting onto found objects) and LWC’s favourite; Photobomb (painting onto large photo prints from photographers around Australia). The Creative Conferences saw inspirational talks from Jarrad Seng Photography, Rachel Claire Photography, Alex Paioff (Pilerats) and Matsu Photography to name a few - these evenings brought together people from all fields, producing many networking opportunities for both professional and emerging artists and creatives.
It’s now time to host an exhibition on The Corner Gallery itself! There will be a video loop of footage from the gallery build, the skate nights (yes the pool corner next to the stage used to get used!) and the events, artist sketches from some of the murals that have graced the walls, some Corner Gallery artefacts, live art and a massive photo wall.
Little Wing Collective invites anybody who may have happy snaps, photos of your favourite bands and artwork or projects that have been filmed/shot in the gallery to submit them for the photo wall by emailing us at email@example.com OR dropping them in the Dropbox link below:
The Little Wing Collective family will continue running art and music events outside of The Corner Gallery. Bands will be announced soon, keep your ears and eyes peeled!
