Workshop or class description
Learn how to take your art from the sketch book to the wall.
Please tell us a bit about yourself, your background and your passions
From memory I started drawing when I was about 4 or 5. As a child I found it could take me to places that nothing else could and where no one else was. As an adult I draw on those places a lot and my main attempt is to erase fear from the things we don't understand. I feel adults are to blame for children being afraid. They convince a child to be cautious of things that they themselves could never understand. So I create a fantasy world where the child is free to explore and feel safe, rather than hesitate and be afraid.
I studied Art straight out of school and failed, due to turning every still life charcoal drawing in to a space station or monster swamp. I had a few jobs after that, then studied film and some business, both of which pushed me back to seeing art as a viable career option.
